HandBrake is a free application downloaded from the Internet and versions are supplied for Windows , MacOS and Ubuntu. This HandBrake article states the application is able to:
- Convert nearly any video to MP4 or MKV
- Crop and resize video
- Restore old and low-quality video
- Remove combing artifacts caused by interlacing and telecine
- Pass-through audio without conversion for certain audio types
- Adjust audio volume levels, and dynamic range for certain audio types
Obtain HandBrake Video Transcoder:
- Go to https://handbrake.fr/ and download the appropriate version of the application.
- Locate the downloaded HandBrake installation package labeled something like "HandBrake-1.3.3-x86_64-Win_GUI.exe" and double-click to begin.
