Android Media Player with HDMI Input Quick Start Guide [301-BRZ]

Installing a Breeze Player is simple!  Just plug in an HDMI-supported screen, Internet connection and power.  The Breeze Player will automatically connect and report to the Breeze server in the cloud.

Detailed information is provided in the Android Media Player Installation Guide [BRZ-301].

Physical Connections

  1. Ethernet
    1. Connect an Ethernet cable to Ethernet ( #1 ) on the Breeze Player.
  2. Video Output
    1. Connect the HDMI cable to HDMI ( #2 ) on the Breeze Player.
    2. Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to a monitor, television screen or video distribution system.
  3. Power
    1. Plug the power cord into the Breeze Player ( #3 ).
    2. Plug the other end of the power cord into an electrical outlet.
Playback of demo content begins as soon as a player is provided with power and connected to a screen.  The player must be online and in communication with the Breeze server to change the playback content.

Players Tool

The Players tool is the interface between users and the Breeze Players, where users can review and edit player information and operations.  Each player is represented by an icon in the Players tool.  Each player icon has a green or red indicator, signaling at a glance if the player is online.

A few minutes after the physical connections are complete, the player will come online and the player icon turns green.  A user can change the playback content by altering the selection in the Schedule field.  Altering the selection in the Schedule field will not effect an offline player!

New playlists must be packaged in a schedule to be delivered to the player.  The Breeze Quick Start Tutorial - Part II tutorial provides more information about schedules and the Players tool.

Or start designing new playlists right away with free content packages located on our Knowledgebase: https://link.keywesttechnology.com/template.

If the player does not come online after a few minutes, the player is most likely not connecting to the Internet.  Network connectivity can be verified on the Android Launcher dashboard.

Confirm Connectivity

You will need to physically connect a mouse and keyboard to the player device to verify or troubleshoot Internet connectivity.

The Breeze Player software is the program responsible for running the digital sign.  The Breeze Player program and the Android Launcher program must be stopped in order to accomplish tasks such as modifying device settings and verifying network connectivity.

Stop  the Breeze Player
  1. Right-click the mouse and/or select Escape on the keyboard to exit the Breeze Player program.

  2. The Android Launcher dashboard is visible when the Breeze Player is stopped.  Select the CANCEL AUTOPLAY button within 5 seconds or the Android Launcher will start the Breeze Player again.

The Android Launcher window offers four buttons along the bottom of the screen to display and provide access to hardware device settings: Date & timeEthernetWi-Fi and Settings.  Connectivity is verified via the Ethernet Status or Wi-Fi Status.

When both the Ethernet Status and the Wi-Fi Status are “Unconnected,” the Breeze Player is offline and unable to receive updates from the server.

Updates from the server include changes in content, playlists, schedules, and more.

Troubleshooting

  1. Verify the Ethernet cable is securely attached to the Breeze Player and the wall jack or network device.  The Breeze Player device must be physically accessed to press the power button or unplug and reconnect the power cable.

  2. Verify the Ethernet cable is functional by swapping it with a known good cable.

  3. Physically reboot the Breeze Player device.  The Breeze Player device must be physically accessed to press the power button or unplug and reconnect the power cable.
