End-of-Life: Storing MediaZone Pro Editor Files on a Network Drive

End-of-Life: Storing MediaZone Pro Editor Files on a Network Drive

When MediaZone Pro Editor is installed, a folder called "MediaZone Pro Editor" in created in the Documents library (C:\Users\Documents\MediaZone Editor Pro). This folder contains five additional folders the MediaZone Pro Editor software uses to operate:
                  1. Events
                  2. Media
                  3. Schedules
                  4. Sets
                  5. Templates

When digital signage content is shared via a network drive, the MediaZone Pro Editor can be configured to utilize folders on the network drive, rather than the folders created on the C:\ drive of the computer on which MediaZone Pro Editor is installed.

These file paths are also used with the Retrieve function in the Share tab.  (If media files are the only content that will be stored on the network drive, this configuration may not be necessary).

Note:  When playlists are saved, a matching template file (.etmp) is created in the "Templates" folder (C:\Users\Documents\MediaZone Editor Pro\Templates) regardless of the location where the playlist is saved.  If the playlist is saved on the network drive without altering file paths of the  MediaZone Pro Editor software, the template file (.etmp) will not be found by other users and the playlist will be opened using the default layout instead (DefaultLayout.etmp).

1.  Create the five folders used by MediaZone Pro Editor in the desired location on the network drive.

2.  Click on File menu in the MediaZone Pro Editor and select the Options button.

3.  Select Folders in the Options window menu on the left.

4.  Browse to the folders created on the network drive for each of the five folder locations: "Events," "Media," "Schedules,"
"Sets" and "Templates."

5.  The MediaZone Pro Editor will now utilize the folder in the locations specified in each of these file path fields.
